I first founded Lucky Blue in 2013 as a handcrafted home decor business, mostly as an outlet for my creative energy. I worked hard creating designs, sanding, staining, and painting, and I sold my wood signs at local events, local retail shops, and on Etsy.
If you wanted a custom zip code sign or a framed plaque for your beach house, I was your girl.
(*Side note: I wore masks long before it was cool.)
It was a labor of love… there were late nights, plenty of splinters and paint-covered hands, and an uncomfortable amount of stress juggling custom sign requests from what felt like everyone I knew (plus those nice strangers shopping on Etsy).
But all of my good energy was going toward helping local organizations I was involved with... and refreshing Zillow and watching the real estate market. (sound familiar?)
And then a lightbulb moment happened. What if I could combine my creative instincts, my vacation home rental obsession, and my deep desire to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate?
And Lucky Blue 2.0 was born: a mission-driven company specializing in custom and classic home decor for vacation rentals.
